The idea for this project was a direct result of conversations with local business owners, as well as researching available programs such as the Chamber of Commerce, Visit Madison, and Madison Main Street. While these organizations are doing their best at their respective efforts, we found that there was an opening for an online guide dedicated to promoting top Madison businesses and more. Thus, the idea for this project was born.
We shared the idea of anonline business guide with Madison business owners, and several of them wanted to be a part of the project. To participate, we require a minimum 4 star customer rating. The Best of Madison Guide launched in November, 2017 and was an immediate success. Two months later we launched the affiliate Facebook page, and in late 2025 launched our mobile web-app.
Now in our 8th year, the Best of Madison Guide is a Madison-based venture dedicated to creating innovative solutions that foster community engagement and local economic growth.
